ABOUT ME

I am a painter, writer and translator from Odisha, India. I paint with acrylics and oils. I also do urban sketches.  

I write poetry, fiction and non-fiction in Odia, my mother tongue, as well as in English. I write regularly on my blog – Flame of the Forest. 

I translate Odia poetry, fiction and nonfiction into English. Occasionally, I translate writings from Bangla and Hindi into English. 

Like many of us, I like to capture the beauty of fleeting moments, serene landscapes and haunting cityscapes in my camera; I use the photographs as reference photos for paintings, in my blogs, for cover pages of books. And sometimes, I try to tell a story using them. Photographs used in this website, unless otherwise mentioned, are taken by me or from my personal collection.

And I love to cook fish for my friends and family though I am a born vegetarian.
